to job hunt like there’s no tomorrow, use my tax return to get a car, try to stay positive. and if by the end of this nine months, we’re still barely scraping by, adoption is still a very likely, very difficult option.

what do you think about peta? i used to think they were pretty good but ive been hearing a lot about how they actually kill animals and are just generally shady af. so what do you think?

aye, it’s a bit of a toss up for me. i think peta has a wealth of good information out there for new vegans, like their list of “accidentally vegan” supermarket foods and also their list of cruelty free brands. and i can hands down say they have done a lot more for animals than i’ve been able to do in my lifetime thus far, so there’s that. where i take issue with them is their advertising. it’s generally blatantly sexist and the media attention they receive as an organization is often negative. they do euthanize animals in their shelters when they cannot find them homes. they do not (to my knowledge) blatantly kill animals for kicks. the reason this is an issue, because while most shelters ultimately (unless they’re no-kill) must euthanize the dogs and cats that reside their because of lack space, food, etc. (spay and neuter your companion animals!) in regards of money, peta has really no excuse to not have no-kill shelters. i think their main issue is a misuse with the funds they receive. if instead of expending their budget on mostly sexist advertising (because you cannot trade one form of discrimination for the other) and media attention they put it fully towards their shelters so they wouldn’t need to euthanize even one animal, i’d be a lot more pro-peta. however, i’m not anti-peta, and they could have changed how the appropriate their funds since the last time i’ve researched it. i hope that helps a little bit!

it’s october third! my birthday, actually. and we have, we like luke, levi, and cayden for boy names. if it’s a boy its first name has to be james because that’s a family tradition on my fiance’s side, and he’d go by his middle name. and for girl names we’ve thought of amelie, ellie, autumn, and stella.

it’s hard to pick though, i’ve only ever named my cats! if anyone has some creative suggestions, we’d gladly hear them. :)

it was nothin’ fancy, not yet. we don’t even have rings. we’ve known for a long time we we’re going to get married but with a little one on the way, we both just agreed we should get married before he/she comes.
